Alex completed his BSc and MSc at the University of Guelph working on magnetic molecular materials with Prof. Kathryn Preuss. He moved to Halifax, NS, to work as a Scientist with Solid State Pharma in 2017. In May 2020, he started his PhD with Prof. Erin Johnson at Dalhousie University and developed a new tool for comparing crystal structures using their powder diffractograms. He joined the Woo Lab after defending his thesis in August 2023.
He likes playing sports (any and all, call him up if you need a sub!), hiking, snorkeling, and snowboarding, and looks forward to skating to campus along the canal in the winter.
